Working girl

The 'wall of ribbon' at Sweet Success. A true sight to behold.
Happy Friday readers! How are we all today? I can't believe July is just around the corner, when did THAT happen?? You know what this means don't you? My baby boy will be 2 this month, I literally have no idea where the time has gone...

So these past few months have been full of change and seen the start of lots of new adventures for me. I've started my new bakery venture - Swirls Bakery - which is going from strength to strength and we're busy booking into wedding fairs as we speak so that's very exciting!

I've also started working part time in a local cake decorating shop in Nottingham called Sweet Success. I've been a frequent visitor to their bakery and sugarcraft store since I started my business all those years ago so when I found out they were hiring earlier this year I jumped at the chance to apply for a part time job. I can't begin to tell you how fab it is to be able to 'work' again and have some time being an employee rather than my own boss! Did I mention the frequent stream of cake off cuts we get to munch??

But never fear, all of my cake making is still going hard and strong and you can now expect lots of new tweets/instagrams following my adventures in the shop. If you're near Nottingham and love baking then you HAVE to pay us a visit! Directions and all that jazz are on the website using the link earlier in my post and you can check out some of my recent photos via their FB page.

Speaking of cake, I have a HUGE mountain of orders in the next few weeks so don't forget you can check out my most recent work via my Flickr stream. My Star Bakery Twitter will start to go quiet whilst I'm busy over the summer so if you'd like to tweet me then please follow me over on my Swirls Bakery twitter account. I'm also hoping to fit in some family baking time again so will be posting some recipes and photos again soon!
